Small Home Tools is a directory of eight free tools made by Eddy Hwang, gathered on one page.
Why it was made
With eight tool sites, a single link in a Threads, Instagram or X profile was no longer enough. A bare list of links does not say what each tool does, so each one is described here: the problem it solves, who it is for, its language and what to know before using it.
The tools themselves share one reason: home life involves calculations and records you do once every few years, and you should not have to install an app, create an account or upload personal files to get them done.
Who runs it
Eddy Hwang, an independent developer in Korea. Contact eddyhwang.kr@gmail.com. Neither this site nor the tools are connected with any government agency, ward office, bank, utility or property company.
Data sources
This directory produces no data of its own. The figures and explanations in each tool come from the sources below; each tool's about page has the details.
- Tokyo Sodai Gomi Fees
- Fee data each ward publishes in the Tokyo Open Data Catalog (CC BY 4.0), compared item by item with the ward's official fee table. The check date is shown on each page.
- Gyesanpan
- The formula and rule (laws and official guidance) written at the bottom of each calculator page.
- Move-out Restoration Share Calculator (Japan)
- MLIT's guideline on restoration disputes (revised edition, August 2011) and its reference material (March 2023). All useful lives and the method come from these documents, and the worked examples in the reference material are recalculated by automated tests.
- StayDays
- The Immigration Services Agency of Japan permanent residence guideline (revised 1 October 2026), the Ministry of Justice nationality Q&A, the UK Immigration Rules Appendix Continuous Residence and the Home Office continuous residence guidance (version 10.0). Checked on 31 October 2026.
- TourLedger
- No listings data. Facts in the guides about inspections and costs come from the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Environmental Protection Agency.
- StatementLens
- No outside data: only the statement file you open. PDF text is read with Mozilla's PDF.js (Apache License 2.0).
- RoomProrate
- Only the dates and amounts you enter. Explanations of billing periods and standing charges quote Octopus Energy's public help pages (UK).
- MoveRecord
- Only your own photos and notes. Guides draw on Consumer Affairs Victoria, Apple Support and MDN Web Docs.
How the descriptions were checked
The descriptions on this site were written on 31 October 2026 from each tool's home and about pages. Only features and numbers stated on those sites are repeated here. If a tool changes, the tool's own site takes precedence; please let us know about any difference.
How the site is paid for
The site is free and funded by Google AdSense. Ads appear below the tool list and between sections of text, never on the privacy, terms, contact or advertise pages.
